About Holger

A life shaped by development.

Black and white portrait of Holger Nitsche

Dance has shaped my life and remains one of the strongest foundations of my work. But the work itself has grown far beyond the dance floor.

At its core, I am interested in how people develop, how they understand their bodies, recognize their next step, build confidence in what they can do, and turn knowledge into practical ability.

That has taken me from competitive dance, teacher and coach education into broader movement work through TONEMEUP PRO and BodyCoaching, as well as into mentoring, personal development and conversations about long-term financial security, connecting people with specialist expertise through my partnership with Bauer Finanz.

The common thread is not a particular profession or sport. It is helping people develop with greater awareness, clarity and independence.

Discipline Before Achievement

I am proud of the championships and professional milestones I have achieved.

But what I value most is the fact that I kept pursuing my goals through the highs and lows of sport and life.

Discipline, perseverance and the willingness to continue developing have shaped almost every part of my life.

Alongside my competitive career, I completed university studies in sport and an industrial business administration apprenticeship.

Those different experiences still influence the way I approach my work today: structured, disciplined and with a clear objective in mind.

From Competitor to Coach

From Competitor to Coach

University sport studies, an ambitious football career and 14 years of competitive dance taught me to look at movement from more than one perspective.

Dance became a major part of my professional life. Alongside my own competitions I I spent nearly 20 years in leading teaching and coaching roles, including work within the German national and regional (Baden Württemberg) federation structures helping dancers and young talent develop both technically and personally.

But the questions that interested me were always broader than dance itself: How does the body organize movement? How do posture, coordination, alignment, body tension and awareness affect what a person is able to do?

That thinking eventually became an important foundation of TONEMEUP PRO and my work as a BodyCoach. Today, I apply it not only with dancers and dance teachers, but with people from different movement and sporting backgrounds, and with people who simply want to understand and use their bodies better in everyday life.

For me, coaching is therefore not only about improving a dance step or athletic action. It is about helping a person become more aware of what their body is doing, what can change, and how that change can become usable.

From Coaching to Method

At some point, experience alone was no longer enough for me.

I wanted to understand why certain approaches worked and how those ideas could be documented and taught.

That led me to develop methods, concepts and educational structures around competitive dance, music and movement.

RHYTMECALITY grew from my work with music and rhythm.

The Nitsche Dance Academy and later the Nitsche Teacher Academy grew from my interest in structured development for dancers, teachers and coaches.

TONEMEUP PRO developed from my long-standing interest in body awareness and movement.

These are different expressions of the same way of thinking:

experience should lead to understanding, and understanding should be transferable.

Developing the People Who Develop Others

Developing the People Who Develop Others

One of the most important changes in my work has been the shift from developing dancers to increasingly developing teachers and coaches. That work began deeply inside dance.

Over time, the same question became important beyond the dance floor: how do you help someone understand what their body is doing, recognize what needs to change, and make that change usable?

That question is also at the heart of TONEMEUP PRO and my work as a BodyCoach. BodyCoaching grew directly out of it and stays connected to TONEMEUP PRO: it is not about filling someone with more information, but about helping people develop body awareness, posture, coordination, alignment and a clearer sense of what their own next step should be.

A teacher and a coach need something broader.

They need methods. They need perspective. They need options. They need a structure that helps them understand not only what to teach, but how and when to teach it.

Whether I am working with a dancer, a teacher, a coach, an athlete or someone who simply wants to move and use their body better, the principle is the same: development works best when people are helped to discover, understand and apply, not simply instructed.

That is where much of my attention lies today.

Beyond the Dance Floor

My work has always been connected to development, but development does not stop with dance technique.

Over time, that has led me into areas that support people within and beyond dance: professional education, body awareness, long-term development and financial security.

Some of these areas grew directly from my own methods. Others grew through partnerships with people whose expertise complements mine.

The common thread is simple: helping people build stronger, more sustainable lives around the work they care about.

The Work Continues

The Work Continues

I do not see development as something that ends.

That applies to dancers. It applies to teachers and coaches. And it applies to me.

I continue to develop ideas, methods and educational formats because I remain curious about the same things that have interested me throughout my career:

How do people learn? How does music change movement? How does awareness change the body? And how can experience become something useful to the next generation?
